Egg Drop at Gillespie County Airport | March 28
Kick off the Easter season with one of the most talked-about local events of the year. The annual Egg Drop at Gillespie County Airport sends eggs falling from the sky for kids of all ages to collect. It's free, it's festive, and it fills up fast. Bring a bag or basket and arrive early! The drop happens at 10 a.m. sharp, with festivities starting at 9:30 a.m.

Easter Egg Hunt at Marktplatz | March 31
Get a jump on the holiday at Marktplatz in the heart of the Fredericksburg Historic District. The Easter egg hunt runs from 3:30 to 6 p.m. — a fun, easy stop right in the middle of downtown.

The Easter Journey | Good Friday, April 3
On Good Friday, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints hosts The Easter Journey, a drive-through experience followed by light refreshments. Drive-through runs 6–6:30 p.m., with refreshments and fellowship from 6:40–7:30 p.m.

Easter Fires of Fredericksburg Pageant | April 4
The Easter Fires Pageant tells the legend of how a pioneer mother explained the hilltop fires to her children the night before the Easter peace treaty between German colonists and the Comanche nation, a story rooted in real Hill Country history. The Gillespie County Fair and Festivals Association presents this beloved annual production at the Gillespie County Fairgrounds.

Family Decoupage Easter Egg Decorating | April 4
Head to Yellow Door Studio for a hands-on paper mâché egg decorating class. Paint, decoupage, or add some sparkle to your own one-of-a-kind Easter creation. The two-hour workshop is open to all ages and includes all materials.

Easter at the Farm | April 4
Step back in time at Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm inside Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Historic Site. This come-and-go event celebrates Easter the way early German-Texan settlers did with natural egg dyes, a traditional Easter Lamb Cake, handmade friendship cards, and a look at the seasonal décor and baked goods of an early 20th-century farmstead. It's free, all ages are welcome, and it runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All visitors check in at the Visitor Center first.

Easter Eggstravaganza at The Ridge Marketplace | April 4
Just down the road in Kerrville, The Ridge Marketplace hosts their annual Easter Eggstravaganza with a full morning of spring festivities. The egg hunt kicks off at 10:15 a.m., with face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, and more running through 1 p.m.

Hoppy Easter Weekend at Texas Wine Country Jellystone Park | April 3–6
Spend the whole Easter weekend at Jellystone Park with Yogi Bear and the crew. The annual egg hunt features tens of thousands of filled eggs, plus crafts, games, Easter egg dyeing, outdoor movies, and plenty of family fun throughout the weekend.

8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Luckenbach Texas | April 5
Round out Easter Sunday with a trip to the legendary Luckenbach Texas for their 8th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. It's free, laid-back, and comes with live music from Tumbleweed Hill.

Easter at Wildseed Farms | April 5
Celebrate Easter Sunday at the nation's largest working wildflower farm. From noon to 3 p.m., the Easter Bunny will be inside the Tasting Room greeting families, handing out colorful eggs, and posing for photos. No tickets required. Parents can enjoy a glass of wine while the kids soak up all the springtime magic with fields of bluebonnets and poppies as the backdrop.

Easter with the Elephants at The Preserve | April 5
For something truly unforgettable, head to The Preserve and watch Kitty, Rosie, and Becky open their Easter egg treats. Treat-filled eggs are available for kids ages 4–12, and the experience is included with admission to the 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. Elephant Experience.

More Spring Events
Easter weekend falls right in the middle of wildflower season, which means Texas Hill Country is at its most spectacular. A few other seasonal events running throughout March and April:
Wine & Wildflower Celebration (March 24–April 18): Pay a flat fee and visit participating Texas Hill Country wineries for award-winning tastings with stunning views. A great way to string together a spring day trip.
Wildseed Celebration at Wildseed Farms (April 1-12): Beyond the Easter event, the farm hosts their seasonal Wildseed Celebration throughout spring. Explore the butterfly gardens, watch for hummingbirds, shop the nursery, and grab a bite in the Brewbonnet Biergarten.
Fredericksburg Art Guild Spring Art Show (Sun, Thurs, Fri, and Sat, March–April): Members of the Fredericksburg Art Guild showcase original works in oils, acrylics, watercolor, photography, mixed media, and more. Open 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
